Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. beer or ale
  • 2 t. cornstarch
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt together.
  2. Blend the egg and beer and quickly stir into the flour mixture.
  3. Don't worry about a few lumps.
  4. Use as a batter for making batter fried fish and onion rings.
  5. Or, use as a tempura batter for vegetables, shrimp, or other seafood.
