Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. old fashioned oats
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter or sesame seed butter
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/3 c. honey (or maple syrup)
  • 3 T. light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium banana mashed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine oats, flour, cinnamon, baking soda and chocolate chips.
  3. Toss together.
  4. Combine peanut butter, apple sauce, honey, brown sugar, egg and mashed banana
  5. Add wet to dry and stir to combine
  6. Bake on silicon lined bakng sheet or parchment paper using large cookie scoop]
  7. Wet fingers and tap cookie down to flatten a bit since they do not spread out in the oven.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes until slightly browned and they appear firm.
  9. Cool for a couple minutes on the baking sheet then transfer for a baking sheet.
