Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 2/3 c. sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1/4 c. Butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 t. Baking powder
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1/2 t. Baking soda

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff, set aside. In mixing bowl combine dry ingredients.
  2. In separate bowl, beat together egg yolks, sour cream and milk.
  3. Combine butter and oil.
  4. Add liquid ingredients alternately with fats to dry ingredients.
  5. Stir until batter is smooth.
  6. Fold beaten egg whites into batter.
  7. Bake until brown and crisp (about 4 minutes.)

Makes 8-10 waffles
