Buttery Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 c. (2 sticks) Butter
- 1 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1 t. Vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. Flour
- 1 t. Baking Soda
- 1 t. Cream of Tartar
- 1/4 t. Salt
Instructions
- Throughly cream together room temperature butter, powdered sugar, egg and vanilla.
- Stir in remaining dry ingredients.
- Chill at least l hour before rolling and cutting shapes.
- Bake at 350°For about 6 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from cookie sheet promptly and cool on brown paper bag or parchment paper.
- Store in airtight tin.
- Handle with care as these are quite fragile.
