Ingredients

  • Cream 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • Sift together: 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 t. soda
  • 1 t. salt
  • add to creamed mixture
  • Add: 2 c. quick oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix well.
  2. Press and mold into two long smooth rolls.
  3. Wrap in waxed paper. Chill several hours.
  4. Slice and bake at 400 degrees oven for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown.
