Ribs

This is from a friend.  I didn’t have time to season overnight and they turned out great!  I actually only put a little bbq sauce on Jeff Laun’s ribs and they looked good too.

Yum!

Ingredients

  • Rack of ribs

  • BBQ rub (your choice) *see note

  • BBQ sauce (your choice) *see note

Instructions

  1. Coat the ribs both sides in whatever rub you like.

  2. Wrap them in aluminum foil.  Make sure the fat side is up and the fold is on the fat side of the ribs.

  3. Place in refrigerator over night.

  4. Place ribs on a cookie sheet using a cookie rack so the ribs do not actually touch the cooking sheet (Susie just threw them on a cookie sheet)

  5. Bake in oven at 300 degrees for 3 hours or just a little less.

  6. Remove from oven and aluminum foil and apply BBQ sauce. Dab the BBQ on the ribs do not brush. Brush can remove the rub. OR place on upper rack of BBQ until blackened to your desire. I find about 15 minutes is about right. Susan's note: I put them right under the broiler (bottom side first then flip) for a few minutes to crispy them up.  It was so much easier and they didn’t fall apart until you picked them up to eat them!

  7. Remove from BBQ and enjoy.

  8.

Notes

* My friend typically uses Rufus Teague sweet and savory meat rub and Aloha Hawaiian BBQ sauce. Susan used Scott’s Santa Maria style seasoning (scottsseasoningsandmarinades.com) and Sweet Baby’s Ray’s BBQ sauce.
