Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. beef chuck steak, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes (shoulder roast)
  • 3/4 c. ketchup
  • 2 T. vinegar
  • flour
  • 1 1/2 T. worcestershire sauce
  • 4 T. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 3 onions

Instructions

  1. Trim all the fat off the meat and cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes.
  2. Put a large scoop of flour into a plastic bag and put beef cubes on top.
  3. Shake so the flour coats all the beef cubes.
  4. Put the coated cubes into a large casserole or dutch oven.
  5. Slice the 3 onions thin and place them over the beef.
  6. Mix together all the other ingredients and pour over the onions.
  7. Bake in a covered pan at 250-300°For 3 hours.
